What We Do
At Fiordland Families Network, our aim is simple: to connect, support, and advocate for Fiordland families.
We do this by running our own projects, partnering with local groups, and creating resources that make life easier for whānau in our community.
Parent Coffee Group & Education Sessions
Every week we host the Te Anau Parents Coffee Group (with Plunket), a relaxed space for parents to meet, share experiences, and build connections.
We also bring in guest speakers monthly to share practical advice on parenting, child development, health and wellbeing.
How to get involved: Come along to a session, bring a friend, or suggest a speaker.
Maternity Support
Through the Fiordland Antenatal Group, we provide connection and support for people who are pregnant in Fiordland. Sessions include guest speakers and pregnancy Pilates, as well as the chance to connect with others going through the same stage of life.
We also produce the Pregnant in Fiordland brochure, pulling together local resources in one easy guide.
How to get involved: Join a session, share your experience, or help us advocate for better maternity support in our region.
Monthly Newsletter
Our Fiordland Families Newsletter keeps whānau up to date with local news, events, and opportunities. It’s written by locals, for locals sharing useful info, resources, and inspiration for family life in Fiordland.
How to get involved: Subscribe, contribute an article, or share your event with us.

Behind the Scenes
Fiordland Families Network is also about supporting each other as volunteers. We meet monthly, apply for funding to keep projects going, and connect with wider providers to make sure Fiordland families’ voices are heard.
