In this issue we celebrate the opportunities that the quiet, cold winter season brings to get creative and connect with others in our community through the arts & culture. We were amazed to find that despite our small size, Fiordland has a wide range of art, dance, music, drama and other creative activities on offer for adults & children. Check out our directory and take up the challenge to get you and your family creative this winter.
This newsletter also coincides with Matariki, the celebration marking the start of the Māori New Year. Read more about this mid-winter festival and how you can celebrate with your family and friends over the winter months. As we head into the July school holidays check out how the weekly timetable changes for preschoolers & what other activities are on offer below.
We would like to acknowledge the generosity of the Kepler Challenge Mountain Run Trust who have donated $2000 to the Fiordland Families Network - this much needed donation will allow us to keep delivering this newsletter to you.
Happy Matariki everyone!
